CYNTHIA P. ALABANZA

Fields of Practice

Received her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2002. She received her Bachelor of Science degree, Major in Legal Management from the same University in 1998. She was a member of the Ateneo Law Journal staff and served as Varsity Coach and head of the St. Thomas More Debate Society. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2003. She was an associate attorney at the Bernas Law Offices and the Law Firm of R.V. Domingo and Associates.

Relevant Experiences

• Represented clients in various labor-related disputes and provided advice on labor law and employee relations, and has experience in preparing and drafting related contracts, agreements, policy, personnel manuals and other labor related documentation for various corporate clients.

• Participated extensively in the research, preparation and drafting of pleadings in relation to constitutional questions brought before the Supreme Court of the Philippines/ Represented clients in various civil and criminal litigation cases.

• Prepared, drafted and reviewed various documents for the sale, lease and development of PEZA zone located industrial parks in Laguna, Philippines and prepared opinions on the tax and legal implications related to developers, locators and utilities providers in special economic zones.

• Represented intellectual property rights holders, such as multi-national corporations, in enforcement and prosecution of IPR violations in the Philippines.

• Served as in-house counsel and Acting Corporate Secretary for a land development firm, and drafted pleadings for various court cases in relation to land dispute and developer related cases.

• Handled various retainer requirements for corporate clients such as contract reviews, legal audits, and legal opinions.
