• Currently provides assistance in developing the regulatory framework for Qualified Third Parties (QTPs) for the Department of Energy. Work includes review of the Philippines law governing QTPs, developing guidelines for the implementation of the project and presenting the proposed framework in public consultations.
• Acting as local legal consultant for an international advisory group for the implementation of the private sector participation in the electrification of missionary areas. Work primarily involves assistance and coordination with involved government agencies, transaction advisors, electric cooperatives, and prospective investors; assistance in the preparation and implementation of a transparent bidding process, and preparation and presentation of educational materials to launch the project in affected areas.
• Provided assistance in the analysis of the legal framework and transaction structure for the program on Private Sector Participation (PSP) in missionary areas for the Philippine Department of Energy. Work includes the review of Philippine law governing PSPs in infrastructure and energy sectors, providing advice on contractual and regulatory requirements governing rural electrification, and drafting power supply agreements and related contracts to be adopted as template documents by pertinent government agencies and rural distribution utilities.
• Assisting in the review and revision of investment management contracts for electric cooperatives, analysis of the ownership qualifications and restrictions for the purchase of sub-transmission assets, drafting of a negotiated power supply agreement, study and analysis of transmission, distribution and generation tariffs which have been relevant to queries related to clients' projects. Work also includes the analysis of the powers and functions of the National Electrification Administration and its participation in transactions where electric cooperatives are parties to the transaction.
• Acts as assisting corporate secretary and general counsel to different corporations, stock and non-stock. Work includes incorporation, contract review and drafting documents for various corporate transactions and corporate filings.
• Provides advice regarding intellectual property law, protection of intellectual property rights, and registration of such rights to clients. Currently handling trademark applications for clients involved in manufacturing and merchandising.
