• Currently acts as assisting trial attorney for various litigation concerns (civil, criminal, appellate, administrative, inter/intra-corporate litigation and intellectual property) affecting the firm’s clients. Work includes regular appearances in court and other administrative tribunals, preparation, drafting and review of legal pleadings, participation in conciliation and mediation conferences at the trial and appellate levels, developing case theories, legal opinions and viable legal strategies for the firms’ litigation matters.
• Currently part of the team which services several portfolios consisting of non-performing loans and acquired non-performing assets assigned to special purpose vehicles under the Special Purpose Vehicle Act of 2002. Scope of work includes prosecution of various collection, foreclosure and writ of possession cases, negotiation and preparation of various settlement instruments, execution of compromise agreements, deeds of assignments, dation in payments, rescission of third-party contracts, amendments to sale and purchase agreements and enforcement of claims in liquidation proceedings before the Securities and Exchange Commission.
• Acts as management lawyer for various corporations in termination disputes, money claims and labor standards cases before the National Labor Relations Commission and its regional arbitration branches. Work also includes preparation and drafting of legal opinions and pleadings for clients on various labor and social security system issues, assisting clients in administrative and disciplinary hearings, securing working children’s permit and exemptions from mandatory minimum wage increase, preparation and review of labor contracts.
• Acts as assistant corporate secretary and general counsel to different corporations, stock and non-stock. Work includes contract review, drafting legal opinions and preparation of reportorial documents for filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Has caused the incorporation and registration of several domestic corporations, both stock and non-stock corporations, with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
• Currently part of the team which assists a multi-national energy generating company in its various applications for approval of several Contracts for Supply of Electric Energy with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). Work involves the drafting of the application itself, drafting of various pleadings and the presentation of witnesses before the Commission relative to the application for approval of Contracts for Supply of Electric Energy.
• Assists clients with intellectual property law concerns, protection and enforcement of their intellectual property rights and representation of clients in inter partes proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office. Scope of work includes preparation and implementation of cease and desist demands, preparation of legal pleadings, prosecution of infringement and unfair competition cases, quashal of civil search warrants and opposition to petitions for cancellation of trademarks before the Intellectual Property Office.
• Practices family law and has successfully litigated petitions for declaration of absolute nullity of marriage, guardianship, support and custody of children and dissolution of property regimes of spouses. Has facilitated administrative applications for use of surname by an illegitimate child under the Revilla Law, correction of entries with the Office of the Civil Registrar and extra-judicial settlement and partition of estates for clients.
• Practices education law and tends to the various institutional concerns of clients in the field of education.
• Has gained considerable administrative litigation experience through regular appearances before various administrative agencies such the Department of Agrarian Reform Adjudicatory Board, the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor and Employment, Local Board of Assessment Appeals, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board and the Office of the President.
