RAMIL E. BUGAYONG

Fields of Practice

Ramil received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Ateneo De Manila University in 1999 where he graduated with honors, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2000. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree (Finance) from the De La Salle University (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ateneo De Manila University (1994). Prior to joining the firm, he has worked in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, and was an attorney for the Philippine Department of Finance from 2002-2006.

He was a consultant to the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank on the development of certain non-traditional financial products, and a former lecturer on financial transactions for the joint MBA-JD program of DLSU-FEU.

Relevant Experiences

• Acts as counsel to a local microfinance institution and a foreign financial advisor on a P500 million financing transaction.

• Acts as counsel to a power generation company on a P200 million financing transaction.

• Advises a private project proponents on a fiscal administration projects under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) scheme.

• Acts as counsel to a financial advisor in relation to a major financing program for the Philippine government.

• Acts as counsel on corporate matters to a major Philippine business advisory and accounting firm.

• Acts as a consultant to the Philippine Department of Finance-Municipal Development Fund Office regarding on-lending transactions to local government units.

• Advised Allen & Overy and the Department of Finance on Philippine law matters in respect of a major international commercial arbitration case.

• Acted as lender’s counsel for several financing transactions including a P1.5 Billion financing for a major Philippine television network and a $50 Million financing transaction intended for a major Philippine group of companies.

• Acted as transaction counsel for a P2 Billion bonds of a Philippine government owned and controlled corporation.

• Acted as consultant to the Asian Development Bank and to the World Bank on the development of certain non-traditional financial products.
