Received his Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1995, graduating in the top 10 of his class and as outstanding law intern. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the East in 1988. He was admitted to the Philippine bar in 1996. Formerly an associate lawyer with Quisumbing Torres (Baker & McKenzie), he obtained the 15th highest ranking in the 1995 Philippine Bar Examinations.  He has completed a course on International Commercial Arbitration conducted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and assisted the Republic of the Philippines in arbitration proceedings conducted in Paris, France under the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).  He currently teaches Labor Law in the College of Law of the University of the East.

• Acting as lead counsel for litigation in relation to approximately 500 cases nationwide amounting to US$156 Million for the collection of non-performing loans (NPL) by a special purpose company created under the Special Purpose Asset Vehicle (SPV) Act.

• Acted as counsel to a leading international ISP in the Philippines in the criminal prosecution of a computer hacker for theft and for violation of the Philippine E-Commerce Act.

• Serves as counsel to a web hosting company in the prosecution of a case for injunction and damages against former employees who are in violation of their non-compete agreements with the company.

• Represented various clients in labor-related disputes and provided advice on employee relations.

• Acting as counsel to a local IT company involved in the development of new software, providing advice on protection of client's Intellectual Property Rights over the software and assisting client in the filing of criminal charges against former consultant and employee for violation of the Intellectual Property Code and violation of non-compete agreement.

• Represented clients charged with illegal dismissal in cases filed before the National Labor Relations Commission.

• Serves as primary labor counsel to an international news organization and a local affiliate of a European Fortune 500 company. Work involves negotiating with employee unions for Collective Bargaining Agreement; providing advice on labor related matters; and review of service contracts with clients of the company.

• Acting as lead counsel for banks and other international companies in cases involving collection of outstanding accounts of clients/customers.
