OUR LAWYERS

PJS LAW has a current complement of 25 lawyers and 20 full-time non-legal staff, all dedicated to providing quality legal service and excellent client care.

David Emmanuel B. Puyat

Received his Ll.B. degree from the University of the Philippines in 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the same University in 1992. He was a member of the Editorial Board of the Philippine Law Journal while in law school. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996 and obtained the 4th highest ranking in the 1995 Philippine Bar Examinations. Formerly an associate lawyer with Quisumbing Torres (Baker & McKenzie), he also served as Senior Legislative Aide to the Secretary of Finance from January to March 2001 and to the Executive Secretary of the Office of the President from June to July 2001.

Regina Jacinto-Barrientos

Received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1995 where she graduated in the top 15 of her class. She received her Bachelor of Science (Legal Management) degree with honors from the same University in 1991. Formerly an associate lawyer with Quisumbing Torres (Baker & McKenzie), she was a member of the Editorial Board of the Ateneo Law Journal. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996.

Roy Enrico C. Santos

Received his Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1995, graduating in the top 10 of his class and as outstanding law intern. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the East in 1988. He was admitted to the Philippine bar in 1996. Formerly an associate lawyer with Quisumbing Torres (Baker & McKenzie), he obtained the 15th highest ranking in the 1995 Philippine Bar Examinations.  He has completed a course on International Commercial Arbitration conducted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and is currently assisting the Republic of the Philippines in arbitration proceedings conducted in Paris, France under the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).  He currently teaches Labor Law in the College of Law of the University of the East

 

Job Adrian M. Ambrosio
Received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1998 and his Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the same university in 1994. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1999 and the California Bar in April 2002. He is a member of the American Bar Association. He returns to the Firm in March 2005 from the Philippine Department of Finance (DOF) as special counsel to the Corporate Affairs Group, International Finance Group and Privatization Office from October 2003-February 2005. He recently completed a course on Negotiation of Financial Transactions conducted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR); he also has an international diploma (with distinction) in Computer Information Systems Analysis and Design from the University of California Berkeley Extension.
Maria Raquel S. Chavez
Received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1996. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Management Economics) degree from the same university in 1990. Formerly an associate attorney at Ortega del Castillo Bacorro Odulio Calma and Carbonell Law Office. She served as legislative aide to the Secretary of Finance from January to March 2001. She also served as corporate counsel for Banco de Oro Universal Bank from 1999 to 2000. She was admitted to the Philippine bar in 1997.
Monalisa C. Dimalanta
Received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997, and her Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) in the same University in 1993 where she graduated cum laude. She obtained her Master of Laws (Ll.M.) degree from the University of Michigan where she attended as a DeWitt fellow in 2000-2001. In the UP College of Law, she was a member of the Editorial Board of the Philippine Law Journal. She also belonged to the honors society and the debating team that participated in the ASEAN Varsities Debate in Malaysia. Formerly an associate lawyer with Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose and a former law clerk for (retired) Associate Justice Vicente V. Mendoza of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, she was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1998. She recently completed a course on Negotiation of Financial Transactions by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and attended various seminars in the Philippines and abroad on negotiating power purchase agreements.
Gwen Grecia-deVera
Received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1995 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996, having obtained the 7th highest ranking in the Bar Examinations. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the same University in 1991. She served as law clerk for Associate Justice (ret.) Vicente V. Mendoza. She later became legal counsel for ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation. She was formerly an associate attorney with Poblador Bautista & Reyes. She recently received an appointment as regular faculty member of the University of the Philippines College of Law, where she has been a Senior Lecturer since 1997 in Constitutional Law, The Law on Public Officers and Election Law, Commercial Law Review, Sales and Credit Transactions. She also serves as alternate director on an Advisory Board to the National Telecommunications Commission.
Virginia B. Viray
Received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997. She received her license as a Certified Public Accountant in 1991 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1998. Formerly an associate lawyer with Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon and San Jose Law Offices, she also served as Legislative Assistant to the Secretary of Finance from January to March 2001, and as a Revenue Officer of the Bureau of Internal Revenue from 1992 to 1997. She is a Professor of Taxation Law at the Far Eastern University Institute of Law.
Emilio D. Amaranto
Received a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2006 where he graduated with honors. Obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology) from the same University in 2002. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2007.
Ramil E. Bugayong

Ramil received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the Ateneo De Manila University in 1999 where he graduated with honors, and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2000. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree (Finance) from the De La Salle University (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ateneo De Manila University (1994). Prior to joining the firm, he has worked in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan, and was an attorney for the Philippine Department of Finance from 2002-2006.

Christian Gold M. Calibo
Received his Bachelor of degree from the University of the Philippines in 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree, from Siliman University in 1999. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2007.
Arnaldo M. Cariño
Received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2005. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Communication Arts) degree from the De La Salle University in 2000. Formerly an associate lawyer with Aranas Consunji & Barleta. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2006.

Received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 2005 and her Bachelor of Secondary Education (major in English, minor in Journalism) from the same University in 2001. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2006. She served as law clerk for Associate Justice Teresita Dy-Liacco Flores of the Court of Appeals.
Sundy Lorence C. Lachica
Received his Bachelor of Laws (Llb) degree from Silliman University in 2004, graduating cum laude and at the top of his class. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the same university where he graduated cum laude in 1997. Formerly an associate attorney at Ortega del Castillo Bacorro Odulio Calma and Carbonell Law Office, he is also a civil engineer, having placed tenth (10th) in the 1997 national licensure examinations. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2005.
Rachelle Guinto-Lambuson
Received her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the Philippine bar in 2001. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Legal Management) degree from the same University in 1996. After having been admitted to the Philippine bar in 2001, she started as an associate at Tan Acut & Lopez. She was also an associate at Arroyo Chua & Caedo (formerly Azcuna Yorac Sarmiento Arroyo & Chua). She was also a member of the Ateneo Human Rights Center.

Miguel A. Robillo
Received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Ateneo de Manila in 2004, with honors, where he graduated in the top 17 of his class. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of the Philippines in 2000. After having been admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2005, he joined the law firm of Castillo Laman Tan Pantaleon & San Jose as an associate attorney from 2004-2005. From 2005-2006, he served as the first corporate counsel of the Philippine Infrastructure Corporation (PIC), a government-owned corporation specializing in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects.

Received her Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 2006 where she graduated a member of the Honor Society. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2007. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (Management Engineering) from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2002.

She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce major in Accounting from the University of Nueva Caceres where she graduated cum laude in 1992 and is a Certified Public Accountant since 1993. Formerly an associate lawyer with Arroyo Chua and Caedo Law Offices, she also served as law clerk for Supreme Court Associate Justice (ret.) Vicente V. Mendoza. She was head of the Reconciliation Unit of the Accounting Department of Capitol Development Bank (now RCBC Savings Bank) from 1994 to 1998 and was an auditor of Joaquin Cunanan and Company - Price Waterhouse (now Price Waterhouse Coopers).
