Robust Interest for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Project

February 21, 2013

Over 150 people representing various international and domestic business interests attended the Prequalification Conference for the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Project, held at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila last 6 February 2013. Officials from the Department of Transportation and Communications ("DOTC") and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority ("MCIAA") were present at the Conference and welcomed the robust interest of investors at what DOTC Undersecretary Rene K. Limcauco touted as one of the more important PPP projects of DOTC.

The PhP17.52 billion Mactan-Cebu International Project involves the construction of a new world-class passenger terminal building, with a capacity of about eight million passengers per year and the renovation of the existing passenger terminal building. The winning bidder will also operate and maintain the two terminals for a period 20 years.

PJS Law is one of the transaction advisors for the Project, advising the DOTC, the MCIAA, and the Public-Private Partnerships Center.
