PJSLaw welcomes new Partners

PJSLaw is pleased to announce the entry into the partnership of Attys. Pearl Grace Cabali, Rowena Fatima Salonga and Shirley Velasquez-Viray, effective 1 January 2017.

Their leadership have been proven over the years as Senior Associates, and the trust they have earned from the clients for the Firm is something we truly value," according to PJSLaw Managing Partner, Atty. Regina J. Barrientos. "We have no doubt that we can take PJS to greater heights as they join us at the helm."

Pearl joined PJS Law in 2009 and was later promoted to Senior Associate in 2013. As Senior Associate, she handles several of the Firm's transactions on matters relating to taxation and also an active member of the Corporate/M&A and Banking Finance and Capital Markets groups. She obtained her Master of Business Administration - Juris Doctor (MBA-JD) dual degree from the De La Salle University-Far Eastern University Consortium in 2008 and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (Accountancy) from the De La Salle University in 1999. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2009 and was also admitted to the Philippine Board of Accountancy in 2000.

Rowena joined the Firm in 2010 and has rose to the rank of Senior Associate in 2014. As Senior Associate, Weng honed her expertise on matters relating to the Philippine Energy industry making her as one of the invaluable member of the Energy practice group. Weng received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of the Philippines in 2009 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year. She received her Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) degree from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) in 2004 and has passed the New York State Bar in 2010.

Shirley, on the other hand, is one of the leading members of the Corporate/M&A group having assisted in several major M&A transactions of the Firm including the US$1.2B acquisition by Aboitiz Power Corporation of the equity interests in GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant Ltd. Co. and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. She joined PJS Law in 2010 and was promoted to Senior Associate on 2013. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines in 2008. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree (Political Science) from the University of the Philippines in 2003 where she graduated cum laude. Shirley was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2009 having obtained the 9th highest ranking in the Bar Examinations.
